Indian Food Prices rather world food prices have risen, where lies the fault

from what I gather, there reason for the price increase is the panic created in the public by the media. after the papers and the tv news stations reported that a "global food crisis" is just around the corner, many people ran to stores and bought plenty of rice, which caused the price of rice to rise dramatically.

is it because of the usage for crops for biofuel ?

It's called pull-demand inflation in economical way. It's just a simple reason, human population getting higher and higher each year. That's the main problem.
