Julius Caesar, Napoleon or Churchill? Who is the leader we should all look up to?

Good question
This is going to start a very interesting discussion.
I want to say Che Guevara because he is much more familiar, but I would rather follow the example of Martin Luther King.
If you were asking about military leaders, then I don't have an answer because I wouldn't follow anyone to war.

Che Guevara would indeed be an interesting choice... but why would you choose him? I mean, expect from becoming a rather superficial youth icon, does he have a true legacy? Perhaps if our leaders were as handsome as he was we would all tolerate their crimes with more acceptance...
Martin Luther King's words are of course always relevant and powerful.
Hard for me to really think of one... Most of the ones I like as historical figures are not really ones I'd like to live under. I could offer Napoleon - although he ended up rather badly, he made important reforms, promoted secularity and education.

No Legacy?
Ernesto Guevara's legacy is very much alive in the public universities of Latin America which, by the way, are much better than the private ones. Young people are still drawn to politics because of him and most of our students are politically active and opinionated.
Transforming him into a fashion icon was just an attempt to ridicule him. However, anyone with a brain can see beyond the icon and know tha man.

re: No Legacy?
The Sea of Darkness” (Samudra Kegelapan).

STRATEGI PENGEMBANGAN ILMU
DALAM PERSPEKTIF FILSAFAT ILMU
“Paradigma Perkembangan Ilmu Pengetahuan”
Abdurrahman Kader

It was a real question
By no means did I mean to ridicule him... I was really wondering. Could you explain what makes him so attractive to young people? Is there some good source to read about his thought?

Source of thoughts
I never thought you were ridiculizing anybody. Don't get me wrong.
Well, you can totaly find him in the wikipedia, the article is very good and thorough. But if you really want to get to the sources (good for you, young padawan), this is the list of Guevara's own publications that were translated to English. If you want to take the short-cut and watch the movie "The motorcycle diaries" you will get to see the true spirit of the man but only a glimpse of the revolutionary. Now that I think of it, I'm glad you have asked. Don't be a stranger. ;)

Thanks!

You are great! I will definitely look into this list.

But could you say, just in a few words, what makes Che Guevara an interesting leader (to you)?

he did not lead

he was only admired and being followed

he did not say come and follow me, do this and that.

the question relates to this question, who do you believe the smoker who says do not smoke or the non smoker who says do not smoke?

I'm sorry, I don't understand any of your three posts. Who is "he"? And what does smoking has to do with this topic?

Important Question
Ya ---i agree  with  you-----It is a vry well saying that "Those who forget the history, then history  forget to those people" ----i.e. it does   not care about such people ruining----so we should not forget the leaders whose  efforts have made us reached  to this high rising status-------Further more these are the studies of leader,s way of working which set the future path of a nation for  prosperity----We can find what were their mistakes which one should avoid in order to have a  good  ,prosperous society------In  Pakisatn the famous quote of Mr Chirchil is always reffered in which he had asked for prevailing Justice-----The background of this quote is that when he decided to participate in second world war the journalist asked question to Mr.Chirchil whether he had seen the all aspects/ future results of  jumping into the war.Mr Chirchil asked  what is the condition of courts---- He was meant whether people was getting justice in the coutrs----on receiving the positive reply he said then there is no problem to participate in war------because of this sentence he is liked by me very much--------------------( Sorryif there is any spelling mistake)
