Calculation of profits

From the time your summaries and reviews are published on Shvoong, they will start accumulating royalties. Each month, Shvoong shares 10% of its revenue from publicity between its writers, according to its number of readers. However, as the sum shared is not set, nor is the number of writers between which it is distributed, it is impossible to know the exact number of readers required to reach the $10 minimum. It usually takes several thousands of readers to make any profit at this point. This may certainly take time; however your profits keep accumulating from month to month.

re: Calculation of profits
Like another member here, I also find the computation of earnings quite weird.  I became a member since 2007, of course I only got 7 summaries since I thought earning money here is really hard, got more than 1,000 views and guess how much I got for that? $0.29.  OMG!  For two years?  You must be kidding.

re: Calculation of profits
lol yeah right. im starting to make conclusions now admin. why!?
first my views1069 cut into 559 hows that!!!?
next is i had 400 views in the end of feb but i only got $0.12 cetns!
And last i saw the top earners profile and notice that they all have something in common like few info on their profile sometimes no pic no age.
Im a freelance writer and joined a lot of writing sites including this to try if this is real, but seems somethings fishy here. i writing a review for all the sites i know on my blogs, but before i write them i make i point to research on that site first before writing. I hope i can get back my views lost. i already sent an email to support 1 week now but it seems that they don't want to asnwer or get it back. admin if this site is real and genuine and no hocospocos. can you pls fix my lost views. i work for that views. thank you.

re: re: Calculation of profits
Hi GoingMerry12. As you were informed, your views total changed because some of the traffic your summaries got was from paid traffic sites, and this is forbidden on Shvoong. We share the same sum out of our income anyways, we just want to know it is distributed justly between our writers.
If you still feel this is unjustified, please contact our support representatives.

re: re: Calculation of profits
I don't think there is a price per 1 reader that would be right, each month the calculation changes according to company profits

re: re: Calculation of profits
Hi, as your royalties depend both on the site's revenue and on your number of readers, there is no fixed payment for a certain number of readers. In general, I can say that a considerable amount of surfers (several thousands) is required to make any profit at this point.

re: re: re: Calculation of profits
you said that we need several thousands readers to get $10 a month and it depends on how much the site's revenue.
the question is how much is the average of site's revenue? is it for general revenue of the site or site revenue for the writer?
site revenue for the writer is for example.
site's revenue for the writer for the month of feb is $10 and the 10% is $1
meaning writer got only $1 for the month?
can you explain what is the site revenue?

re: re: re: re: Calculation of profits
Hi,
The 10% shared berween the writers and translators are from the site's total revenue from publicy (in all of the site), this also depends on many different things. But every month, 10% out of this total revenue is shared beween the all users according the number of visits in their abstracts on that month.
